StackMatrix is an independent B2B software cost index. We research what popular business tools really cost to connect — not the sticker price on the pricing page, but the true monthly cost once you factor in required plan tiers, API and webhook access gates, and middleware fees.
Our methodology
1. Seat pricing verification. We check each vendor's public pricing pages and record the per-seat or per-user cost of every plan tier, re-verifying on a rolling basis.
2. API & webhook gate detection. Many integrations only work on higher tiers — or require a paid API add-on. We flag exactly which tier unlocks the API, webhooks, and custom integrations for each tool, because that gate is often the single biggest hidden cost.
3. Middleware cost modeling. Where no native integration exists, we price the connection through third-party middleware (e.g. Zapier, Make) using their published plan pricing, so the "via middleware" total reflects reality.
4. True-cost calculator. Every pair page includes an interactive calculator that combines seat costs at your team size with the required tier and any middleware fees.
